This is a prototype for the Kids Only Co. It is all cherry wood construction except the blue plastic pedals and the rubber band around the front tire. All painted up with glossy paint to look like a plastic toy.

My first thought was “cool, he’s gunna copy that plastic BigWheel with a wood version.” I have to say, you nailed this one!

I did make an adult size (wood) big wheel. It was on ” Live With Kelly” Go on google and type in Josh Groban rides big wheel, and you will see the one I built as he rides it around on stage. It is also the one you see in my profile picture. Kids Only Co. hired me to build this one as an advertisement tool for a large toy show in N.Y. city.

G’day Don,
You are certainly putting out a whole heap of cool toys for fun and play.
Still love to see some “work in progress” photos, thanks.

G’Day Again Don,
I see in your profile you used to work for Kodak and that shows in the photo quality.
I realize it’s extra to do the WIP photos & notes but me for one would be very grateful as that’s the way I do my second best learning; actually having a go is always the best…lol.
Appreciate what ever you can do, thank you…..

Did you use a CNC on that front wheel, or are you just very good? Great looking big wheel. Thank you for
sharing.

Nice job. How long does a prototype like this take to make? You must have an interesting job.

I don’t have much for pictures before the paint on most of my project, but if you look in my projects and click on the balance bike you will see a couple of those before the paint.

That is so great, you have a real talent!!
It has a Spiderman flair to it, like a kid’s custom chopper

Amazing work on that awesome low rider. Like the big wheels and the attractive colors. Would like to try and ride it.
