One of those boxes that I drew up while sitting in my recliner, trying to think of something new and different.
Mostly domestic woods, including maple, walnut, cedar, pacific coast maple, with purpleheart rods and I believe one round drawer front is bloodwood.
Three drawers in the bottom, including one earring drawer, and one hidden drawer in the upper left round drawer. The rods also double as ring holders.
This will probably show up at my first show in the museum I recently was admitted to as a displaying artist, in September.
FYI, the two outboard boxes were rounded out to fit inbetween the rods, and simply epoxied into place. Didn’t want to try and hide a brad shot through the purpleheart rod. Worked out well, you can lift the box by either.
Thanks for lookin’, and as always, copy it if you want!

I think that this looks good. I like the design. Good work.

Thanks, everyone. The museum likes this kind of stuff. Odd and strange is the key…

You certainly achieved “new and different”! What a cool design and that walnut is spectacular (looks almost like cocobolo).

My wife came down to the shop and asked where the off-on button was…

gfadvm: The walnut “pop” is due to Minwax Natural that a lot of people say they won’t use – but that walnut was just plain old walnut till I hit it with a coat of Natural, followed by four coats of Lacquer and a final polish of Johnson’s paste wax.

You never fail to make excellent projects! That band saw box is truly outstanding and I’m very much impressed.
