Project Information

I acquired this band saw in 1975 and believe it or not it didn't feature a rip fence neither a groove for a miter gauge. I finally made my own and I'm here to share the upgrade.

I hope it could inspire one who purchased the same model, decades ago ! (or another naked model)

Look for all details and more photos on this page of my blog.

Best,

Serge

Thank you, Serge. I recently bought (and tore apart) a used 10" Delta. The table dips down at the slice on one side. Without looking at your site (yet) I know I'll be using some of your ideas. Favorited!

Nice job. It looks almost exactly like the one I paid way too much money for from Rockler a few years back and I'm sure it cost a lot less!

I made one of these and I couldn't be happier. I mainly made it for the fence, so I sometimes take it off for specific cuts. The only thing that I don't like is the loss of cutting depth. I can barely get a 2×4 through my saw without it, and the table stops it by an 1/8" inch. A little frustrating, but still worth it. Yours looks nicer than mine, and seems like it will function for you very well!
