I have been making these walking poles for a few years now. Usually just as presents for mates.
Lancewood – leather – brass tip. Nature does all the work.

It’s nice to know that there is someone else who enjoys making such a simple, but useful object. I recently told a friend I spent the afternoon in my shop. When he asked what I was working on I told him, ‘A stick.” He gave me a very funny look. I totally get what you are doing.

The wood is gorgeous, has very nice figures and texture. Looks cool with the leather. Like it.

Wow what a beautiful wood, there isn’t anything like that up this way. Are the white streaks the sap wood or is that part of the bark ? Lace wood makes a stunning hiking stick – nice job.
