My 7 year old son had a school project to do and chose to make a wooden plane, which of course I’m stoked! He decided what he wanted it to look like, shape, style, and paint. I cut the pieces out and made a thru- mortise for the wings. On this project he learned how much sanding is required an how sore hands and fingers can get because I required him to sand all of the pieces. He also drove the nail in for the propeller. He was pleased with the outcome and I am very proud of him.

It’s got to be a lot of fun working with your son in the shop. When our girls were growing up, they were not interested in woodworking, and still aren’t….so I taught other people instead

You are very lucky to have your son wanting to do something with you in your woodshop. He has a good eye and knows what he wants and how it should look when it’s done. All my Respect. Jim
