Finally found a set of plans that both my wife and myself liked ( there are so many different styles and configurations). They are made of white, quarter sawn oak and finished with “mission oak” varathane and Waterlox Original sealer/finish with medium sheen. The plans came from Woodcraft and for the most part were fairly easy to follow. I am a newbie at this stuff and had never worked with QS oak before. Found it a bit of a challenge to finish the end and edge grains the way I wanted but on a whole it turned out pretty good. My wife put them in the living room so they must be OK!!
