A folding knife with bocote scales

There’s some wood here, so it counts right? This is my first attempt at making a knife. It’s a lockback folder, with an O1 blade, bocote scales, and brass liners/hardware. I ground and heat treated the blade myself, and resawed the scales to bookmatch the grain. The wood is finished with waterlox, then wipe-on poly, then buffed and waxed (with carnauba). The heat treatment left a neat texture on the blade that I kept while polishing. There are a few flaws but I think it came out pretty well.

Great looking knife, very nicely done! Like your logo on the blade—very distinctive touch for your project.

What a wonderful project! I think it would make a perfect heirloom gift, too. I appreciated all the progress photos.

Great looking knife! Like the shape and the very nice wood color and finish on the handle. Well done!
