This is the second pin cushion of the same idea and the third one is underway to be ready to go to the timber show in July. This one takes 24 reels that rotate on Lazy Susan system on the top of tripod which is turned and then carved to get its shape. All parts are made of 3 segments of vertically laminated plywood. To enhance it and cover the end grain of the plywood, I added rosewood rim to the pin cushion. 260 mm in diameter.

Wow this is an awesome idea I never thought of something like this I may make one for my Grandma. Thanks for posting. I am also going to the timber show so I hope to see it.

Gee you guys with the ply are coming upwith some pretty fancy projects, I’m with Bob on this on Sam hope nobody shows my wife.

Awesome pin cushion and thread holder! Great design and build. It’s a great gift to Mom and wife. I’m sure it’s a winner. Excellent work!
