Two boxes inlayed with the silhouettes of two of my friends. Made to experiment with new techniques and new finishes (well… new to me, they’re all as old as the hills).

I’m curious about the technique. Can you point me in a direction that may explain? Very cool, in any case!

I’ll second that request for info on the technique, great boxes!

Thanks guys.
UVW and Scott. I got all the techniques for this from three places.
Inlay – A book called ‘The art of inlay’ by Larry Robinson
The box veneering are from a couple of books by Andrew Crawford
And the finish (hand applied shellac and wax) are from a DVD by David Barron.
Between the three of them they’ve got everything you need to know to make these.

Two nicely done boxes. Hope to see more from you.
