I recently bought a bowl cutting router bit and am learning how to use it. Made these two “bowls”. The dark one is from a vertical slab of walnut from a log I found in our woods. The other one is out of a white oak remnant. I’m keeping the walnut one and will give the oak one to my son-in-law. The template in each case was made from 1/2” MDF. Boy is there a lot to learn about the correct use of this bit! Eventually, I want to try my hands at a chip and dip tray – after much more practice!

Practice makes for perfection. I have thought about a project like this before, but I have soooo much that I want to do, gotta start and stop planning :-) I like the change bowls – very clever gift idea.
