It was rather peaceful Saturday morning and I ventured out to do something new. Normally, I hand-paint these “shields” , but this time I chose to venture out into foreign territory. I’ve engraved several of these before, but never the helmet. I set up my Dremel Trio router bit and went to work. After very careful planning and cutting, the mission was a success. Any mistakes are irreversible and could mean starting the entire process over again.

After staining and poly, as well as some color alterations, It was a done deal. Next time I’ll probably do one with Boiled Linseed Oil and see how it turns out. I have not used this oil before, hopefully it will crate a beautiful finish.
