While I was working on my last project, my first ordered piece (a bookshelf project previous), I had some time to kill when glue/finish was drying. I found some ver nice pallet wood and some small scraps of mahogany. Nothing special just fun, and this is th first time I have ever tried cutting splines so be gentle. Measures 6 inches by 4 and 1/2 inches (11×15.5 cm). Danish oil finish. Haven’t a clue what the wood is on the sides of the box. Love it if one of you could give me an idea. Giving it to the little wife for her to put her hair pins in. Thanks for looking

Looks good. You put time and thought in it and that’s experience that will help you with perfection in the future. As long as you had fun.

Nice box Kaleb and unique design. You may find making boxes addictive.

Thanks all. Didn’t think this would make it to the top 15 for the day as it’s only a practice piece but it’s cool nonetheless. Told my wife that I’m moving up in the world. She replied “You’re cute.” Yes, yes I am. Life is good.

Beautiful box! Great design and wood combo. Like the legs, the splines and the handle. Great job!
