Here are a couple of bedside tabels I finished last March. They are made from walnut with tiger maple drawer fronts. The drawer fronts were lightly stained with a dye stain (TransFast) in order to bring-out the tiger stripes. The drawers were dovetailed with a big-small-big layout. The drawers ride on shop-made dovetailed guides. This was a fun project to build. I included a few in-progress pictures.
Comments welcomed.

Very nice. That combo always is a good choice for contrast. I like your bed too. I built a twin size for my son a few years ago, but the larger size looks just as good. Thanks for the post.

Look very nice. Sliding dovetail as a drawer guide – just for an added challenge.

Excellent design. That tiger maple is a nice contrast. Did you make the bed frame too?

I should add that the purpose of the dovetailed drawer guide is that it prevents the drawer from tipping forward when extended. There is no need to support the drawer from the top.
Here is a close-up picture of the dovetailed drawer guide. The dovetailed portion is nailed with small brads to the main support.

Thanks again for all the great comments!

Very nice wood, design, and execution. Are the drawer handles shaped on the underside?

Thanks everyone! The handles were coved underneath with a core box router bit. I almost hogged out too much, forgetting that I still needed to drive screws into them.
The bed was another Stickley inspired piece ( I’m a big Stickley fan). You can see more pictures of it including in process pics on my website (with measurements). I went to a Stickley store here in High Point and measured it up Norm style! Theirs only comes in Queen so I had to convert some of the measurements to accomodate a King mattress and add more slats.

Very nice work! Two questions: (1) How did you attached the top to the base? Did you glue it down or use some sort of fastner to allow the top to float? (2) Did you finish the inside of the drawer?
Thank you, David

David,
The top was attached with table top fasteners that go into biscuit slots in the table aprons.
The inside of the drawer was finished with the same finish (Minwax Tung Oil Finish).
Thanks!

Cool. One other question. For the drawer slide – on the bottom of the drawer how did you incorporate the dovetail slide? Was it routered into the front/back panel of the drawer? Was it a seperate piece you added? I’m about to make a replication Stickley console table and want to do it properly and am unsure as to how I should do the drawer slides….along the sides, bottom or no slide at all? Thanks!

The dovetail slide on the drawer (female) was made separetly. It was attached underneath the drawer with a screw in the back and a m&t in the drawer front. Let me know if this is not clear. You can find more details at my personal website.
