One more for the upcoming shows. Louisiana Sinker Cypress with a dirt rub finish and several coats of lacquer.

Monte…dirt right out of the garden…doesn’t penetrate like a dye does…

i really love this one greg, it sure looks old and used, your dirt technique is quite good…i wonder what some of the different plants would do that have color to them…good luck with the texas show…

That sinker cypress looks good with a smooth finish and even with the dirt finish. My cypress is still ageing and waiting for Monte to come cut it.

Here on the farm we try to keep dirt off of our projects, not always easy to do. Maybe I’ll have to rethink it now. Nice work.

did you sand blast it after you shaped it?
if not how did you get the grain to show like that?
