This is my 100th post and a nice milestone to reach. Wow, what a ride with Lumberjocks!
I figured I should do something special to mark the occasion so I made this big bowl. It’s 13 inches wide and 5 inches tall.
Took about 8 hours of total turning and finishing time. Started it about a year ago to “rough it” to shape, then Anchorsealed it and let it dry. This past weekend, I final turned and sanded it.
It’s a beautiful piece of wood, with zero defects. The finish is the same used for cutting boards, 50/50 mix of Salad Bowl finish & mineral spirits, then a top coat of 50/50 beeswax and mineral oil.
This community has been a great source of inspiration for me. Great projects, ideas, reviews and most of all the great woodworkers.
I’ve done everything from bottle stoppers to a Highboy and loved every minute of it. Looking forward to start on some different projects from my “Saved favorites” list.
By the way…… Special thanks to the videographers like Mark, Steve, Matt, Stumpy, Sean, Brian and many others for making this an even more entertaining site.
