Cherry Vase

Cut from a cherry log I received a year ago, so I thought it was ready with a moisture content of 12%. It stands 5 1/2’’ tall x 4 1/4’’ at its widest pt. Except for the bottom being a 1/4’’ thick, the rest of it is about 1/8’’. You can see a lot of sunlight through it in some areas. Almost ruined it a couple of times. Finished with a satin lacquer and buffed out. Think I might go with a high gloss.

Very nice vase! I love cherry! Glad you didn’t ruin it, that would of been a crying shame!

Thanks woodshaver, I was worried about cutting off the tennon cause the walls were so thin. —————————- Thanks Dave, I wish more of the color would have remained.
