This is a Walnut quilt chest with bent glass sides and quad matched walnut burl top. It was designed to be placed at the foot of a client’s bed and will act as a bench if needed.

Beautiful Chest. The curved glass really sets it off. I assume that the top is not hinged.

Wow, that is beautiful. I really like the ‘branch’ type detail on the front. And I bet the curved glass made it more of a challenge both in design and in construction. Im assuming that the reason for the glass is that the client wants to showcase what they decide to put in there.

Thanks for the wonderful comments! The top is not hinged and yes, the glass doors and sides are meant to showcase family quilts and the piece itself will act like bench at the foot of a bed.

I can only imagine the cussing that will ensue if that curved glass is ever broken!
Nicely done, and what a unique project.
It came out great! You should be proud (and a little sad to have to give it away).
