A request came in for letter openers, to made in just two days. My customer was also my special guest on the project. We sat down and designed the shape from several hundred suggestions. The whole collaboration was swift and immediate. From template to 30 letter openers; cut, shaped, sanded, poly’d, 11 hours. Then the next 48 hours sanding and re-polying, and honing the edges. By the end of the build my hands were spent. But my customer and guest spent the next 15 hours driving back home. This project was a blast to make, all due to the fact of the speed in which it was made, and that my customer was my father-in-law.
