A friend’s 3 year old son has been diagnosed with a pancreas condition and may be in the hospital for up to three weeks. I know no three year old boy that wants to sit still so hopefully this top will help him out.

I saw a somewhat similar top made of plastic and figured with a couple changes, I could make one on the lathe. Took a bit longer than expected as I had to turn a second top as the stem was a little too narrow for the hole needed for the string. It’s all made of walnut and is about 7” long. Thanks for looking, and throw some positive thoughts Tate’s way! Thanks guys and gals!

Beautifully made! The spirit put into this alone will be more than any plastic store bought toy could do!
Best wishes and happy positive vibes for Tate and the family!

That’s a great design for a top and I’ll bet that it was a lot of fun to make. Congratulations.

Sweet, my grandpa (the man responsible for getting me hooked on woodworking) made a bunch of these for us kids many a year ago. Really close to this design too. Thanks for sharing and bringing back such a great memory.

Wonderful and fun toy, like the design and the walnut. I’m sure the boy will like it. Prayers and thoughts for him and the family.
