Thumb Chair

There are several woodworking sites that I follow on Facebook and one of them is Ana White’s. She runs a DIY blog and gives out plenty of free plans that she sketches. A while back she posted a plan for a thumb chair that you can find on her blog. Once I saw it I knew that it would be perfect for my two boys. It can be made out of 1×3’s and some 1×12. My local Home Depot never has flat 1×12’s so I picked up some 1×6’s and glued them up for the seat bottom & back. I plan on making a couple more and hope to make a video to post on YouTube.

You can see the whole build on my blog at:

Cool little chair! I like how well the wood took that deep red stain. Did you use the “whitewood” available at HD, and what kind of stain/finish did you use?

Good looking little chair! Like the design and the stain and finish. I’m sure it will last long to be enjoyed by the kids. Well done!
