Beautiful carving! I hope she’s a keeper. With hand crafted gifts like this, she may never leave. Thanks for sharing.

Wow, you obviously spent a lot of time on this box…it looks great and I’m sure your girlfriend loves it. Did you design your own patterns for the chip carving?

benihun,
That is absolutely gorgeous! I don’t even attempt carving, because I don’t feel I ever have enough time to complete anything. But your time on that box was well worth it. Thanks for sharing, if I can’t view some one elses’ carving I’d never see any! I can certainly believe I’m looking at countless hours. Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful…........
Sincerely,
Ken McGinnis

I can imagine the countless hours in this box. Chip carving takes forever, even longer then relief carving for some reason. It seems like when the end is near, it gets further away. Great job

Hmmm… chip carving, yes – hard to do well because of the repetition, but so easy to look at. On Walnut. Any blade left?

How did I miss your box first time round, I am a chip carver so I know how long this takes, great box well done, especially on Walnut.
