Picnic Table

After seeing LJ’s Jerry’s post a couple weeks ago, thought I might try a version of his picnic table. Had a few pieces of 4×4 osage orange and decided to give it a try. Couple coats of clear Watco and I think I’ll leave it at that.

Cool, maybe you can add an umbrella napkin holder.

Looks good and functional. Will come in very handy during picnics. Like the beautiful wood. Well done!

My photography skills didn’t really show off the real beauty of this species. One of my favorites especially when you can get a streak or two of the creamy white color that’s just under the bark. These pieces were more towards the center of the heartwood. Only downside is the stuff is so dang hard, I try to limit the number of times it gets put thru the jointer & planer.
