Project Information

This is a dog dish stand I put together for a friend as a thanks for watching our dog.

I wanted to try a few new things with this and it is my first attempt at mortise and tenon joinery, using white oak (including quarter sawn) and using General Finishes Seal-A-Cell and Arm-R-Seal.

There were a lot of good things with this and several I feel I can do much better the next time. Some of the proportions are a little not to my liking since I had some material constraints. Along with the material constraints, there were some less attractive pieces that I ended up using for the project that I would have preferred not to have used.

I will more than likely be building more of these for my dog (hers is much more basic that I built several years ago) and for a few other friends. I saw several where people made the top look like a bone and I might try that as well.

Thanks!
Huck

Very nicely done, my dog looked at it and ask me to build her one like it, hope you don't mine if I use your plan.

Looks good to me, and I see no problems with the proportions.

It's a great looking dog dish stand. Dogs will be eating in style. Great work!
