Having been a (very willing ;) participant in 2 of these projects in the past I can tell you they are the most time consuming, expensive, worthwhile and rewarding projects you could ever do. One turned out to be a welder-jock and the other an artist-jock.
Congratulations to you both… and to Dexter (good name!).

congrats to you and the lady who did all of the really hard work on this project. This is one good looking baby. Of course the finishing is yet to be started and will take a very long time and will take a lot of effort from you both. good luck to dexter!!
I notice he’s already going with the short haircut to make the sawdust easier to remove.

Awesome, Gotta a couple little ones myself. Youngest is now 18 months. They seriously reduce shop time, but it never feels like a loss. Enjoy it. I expect a cradle and some toys out of your shop soon.

His first set of chisels are already in the shop- in a safe place. I still have & use the set of Fuller chisels that my Dad got me when I was six, so I figured I’d hedge against inflation and get him his own.
I was working on his cradle when we found out he was coming early. No time to finish it, we had very little notice. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some shop time on the weekend and finish it up.
Thanks again everybody!
Off to Hamilton to bring Dex home.
