Here is the matching stopper to yesterday’s cheese board. Both were commissioned by a friend as a gift for her step-mom. It was my first attempt at a segmented turning, tried a celtic knot and all was going well until I over tightened the clamp….....damn me for being so strong… Had a tight deadline and some long work hours coming up, so opted to go with 2 maple accents on a 15-degree slant.

I like the tray, and possibly the bottle stopper by itself, but when you place the bottle stopper as you have for the picture, in the small pictures, going through the projects, it looked just like a finger with a black finger nail coming out of the wood. Pretty sure that wasn’t your intention, but the color of the bottle stopper is dead on the color of skin and I swear it looks like knuckle wrinkles at the changes in diameter of the stopper. Kind of freaky at first glance.

What I do like is your choice of hardware, which is a unique accent to the cheese board

Simple elegance…best describes your creations. I’m sure that the new owner will love them. Well done!
