This was just a small tool/ plumbers box for my nephews fourth birthday.

I used box joints and I free hand routed his name on one side and used some stain in the groove. I finished it with some BLO because i was in a hurry and thats what I had. He is a little guy so I just used 3/4 pine and some 3/8 plywood for the bottom, that way it was lite enough for him.

It turned out pretty good and he was very happy with it. I also threw a tape measure, some gloves and a wrench in there. He feels like a big boy now that he has some real tools and a tool box.

Wow! Very nice tool box. At a first glance I thought it was dovetailed. I wonder what you will build him on his twentyth birthday! :-) This tool box is very inspiring. Thank you for sharing.

Best,

Serge

Thanks, dovetails are the next thing on my list of learning how to do. I was in a little bit of a time cruch so I just went with the box joints on my table saw.
