Inspired by the first picture taken in August of 2005 I decided to build a bench as an anniversary gift for my girlfriend. Her sisters boyfriend made something for her sister for their four year anniversary so I decided to follow the theme.
Bench is solid red oak, except for the metal hardware. The bench is currently being finished with Golden Oak stain and will be followed with wipe on poly. I need to broaden my horizon when it comes to finishing, but the yellow cans seem to be working for me so far in my woodworking endeavor. I bought the plans and hardware online. The wood I bought other places and cut to match templates I made.
Anyone one familiar with “Oklahoma” I can ensure you the song has been stuck in my head the whole time.

Thanks for this post!
My dad bought one of these not long before he died. I can still see him sitting in his “computer room”.
