It is just a standard 7mm slimline kit with a wooden middle band instead of the metal one. Lets you be a lot more flexible in terms of shape and structure of the pen. All you do it not include the metal band, add in a piece of wood on the end of the top piece about the same width as the band (although it can be wider there is a reasonable amount of tollerance there). Drill them both at the same time but only glue the tube into the top part of the blank. Bottom is the same as normal. You can either turn without any shims at all, or with some shims in the middle and just make up the dimensions.
