I made these planters for my wife for mother’s day. Didn’t get finished till today though. They are made entirely with hand tools and have no metal fasteners. I learnt a few things a long the way. Cedar is very soft and brittle and can break in all the wrong places. A minor scratch looks minor until you put varnish on it. Then it looks huge. Two clamps is not enough clamps. Anyway, the wife is happy. I see nothing but the problems but I think that is normal. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions about cloud lift in the forums while I was planning this project.

JADobson woodworking is a long and exciting learning experience. Even though you only see the problems. Look closer into your wives eyes and all those meaningless problems vanish. It’s simply amazing what a gift from the heart can achieve. Also the display adds so much color and character to your balcony!!!!!! Well done and Welcome to Lumberjocks!!!!!!!!!
