I made these two squares after seeing an article in shop notes. They are made from brass and cocobolo and finished with tung oil. The larger square is 12” and the smaller one is 4”.

Beautiful work! What’s with the profile on the end? Often I use the square end of the rule. Is it just decorative?

Biff I use the end of my adjustable squares all the time but since these are not adjustable it didn’t matter to me about the end. In the article they were cut like this so I wanted to try it just to work with the brass. I use these squares to mainly set up tools and blades. Thanks for the comments.
