A combination EZ Mitre core and finger jointed box . The black liner box contrasts with alternating strips of Luan and Maple with a diamond pattern in the overlap.

Construction – EZ Mitre/Finger (Box) jointed box with drop on lid.

Dimensions – 100 mm square x 100 mm high. 6 mm thick walls ( 3+3 mm). Lid 102mm square

Materials – Luan, Maple and black dyed Birch ply

Adhesives – PVA, CA

Finish – Sanded to 240 Grit and finished with Spray Satin Acrylic

What can I say, Martyn?! Pretty awesome! These latest boxes are turning into an entirely new direction, with added complexity and dimension. A treat for the eye for sure!

Martyn,
The accuracy is required here …. and you have it. The cleanliness in gluing these specially the gaps… you made it. The lining that requires accurate pressing… you nailed it. What can I say….. CONGRATS ON YOUR CENTENNIAL PROJECT …. that sum up your skills. Expect many more from you. Thanks for posting those project, we learned a lot from you on those.
