Modern Entertainment Stand

This project was built for my basement. I needed something to hold a dvd player, cable box, av receiver, ps3, apple tv, center channel speaker, and storage for dvds, remotes, ps3 accessories etc… I didn’t want a basic shelf system, and this is what I came up with.
The stand is made of individual plywood boxes. The boxes are sized to fit standard equipment, and then held together with t-nuts and machine screws. There are no back on the boxes to facilitate air movement.
The base cabinet does have a back that is recessed about four inches to accommodate the power strip and a place to hang all the coiled wires. It is also on wheels to allow the whole thing to be turned to face exercise equipment on the other side of the basement.
I painted it three shades of grey off of the same card at a paint center to match my walls and trim.
This is my second project since I started doing this, and had a few problems, but overall turned out the way I designed it.
Thanks in advance for any comments.

That’s what I love about woodworking. You can make whatever you want any way you want.

Nice job on the entertainment stand.

Cool design and like the paint job, looks modern. Like open storage and the wheels. Great job!
