Yet even more adventures for me in letter-carving. The Minwax red mahogany stain is really what made this project pop. In the process of slicing the delicate letters (in pine, of all woods), I became unsure of the outcome and if the final look was really going to be worth all the effort. But once all carving and sanding came to an end and I wiped on that stain, the beauty presented itself and assured me of my labor. I’m currently applying boiled linseed oil for even more popping of the grain. This project became an embodiment of the verse, and encourages me to let down my own nets in woodworking and life in general.

You make great signs, very inspirational. Like the design, carving and the stain. Great job!
