Earring & Pendant necklace for my Wife

This is my first attempt at earrings. Just messing around with a small piece of the mahogany on the lathe and this turned up. Looked at it and thought it would make a good earring. I had bought a small set of the fixins for earrings from Walmart so I decided to break the ice. Turned another one and drilled a hole through the center (or close) and put it together. Not hard to do but tedious as the parts are so small and my hands are so big. Only bad thing is I’m not good at making two of anything just the same but these turned out pretty close. My wife was well pleased. I took another piece and turned the pendant to match. She liked that also.

Someone had a project of the sanding drum to make balls from small pieces of wood. May look it up and use that to make the wooden pieces later on.

The earrings are about 1” long and the pendant is about 1 1/2” long with both being about 3/4” around. Finished with salad bowl finish.

I am always amazed at the diversity of THINGS that people make from wood and display on this site. Furniture, art, pens, signs, tools, and now earrings! Very nice. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Doug got an extra tater too. Haaa Haaa

Ron to me this forum is a smorgasbord of projects. No project is to insignificant. No project is to sophisticated. As far as I am concerned we all have our skill levels and to me the object is to do or at least try to do the best we can at each ones level. Don’t be scared to try new things.

I have a great group of friends and am thankful to be a part of the group.
