Rout-R-Joint Box

Several years ago I purchased a Rout-R-Joint jig from Woodline at the Atlanta Woodworking Show, but I never tried it out. I saw the Woodline demo, again, at a recent show, so I decided to try it out. This box was made using Curly Maple and Purple Heart with the “hearts” template. The bottom was finished using wine flocking, by DonJer Products, which very closely matches the color of the Purple Heart. I used Watco Danish Oil to seal and finish the wood. I am thinking of putting in partitions and building a tray to fit on top of the partitions to make it into a jewelry box.

Love that maple! They should call that the “Mickey Mouse” template instead. :-)

I purchased one of those jigs too a few years ago and have not used it either. May it is time.

Great job on the box
