The pizzal peel was a gift for the brother in law’s birthday. Wife has a tendency to ask for gifts and i get ‘em done! Made from scrap pieces in the garage of walnut, cherry, maple and mahagony. The cutter is made of walnut. The front curve was traced from the top of a trash can and then sanded round. Then the taper was handed on a high powered 48” belt sander. The taper on the cutter was also hand worked. The cutter has a nice hole for your fingers to grab onto, then the pointed end is used as a server for the pizza after you cut it. Worked very well.

Nice looking set, I too like making these, and have a couple posted here on Lj’s. How thick is the peel, and how much does it weigh? I like the cutter idea.

Peel turned out great, color combination is really good. I’ve never seen a cutter made out of wood before, its a great idea and to double as a pizza slice server just makes it that much better.

Thanks guys. The peel is a approx 5/8”. Not sure of the weight. I can use one handed, while my wife has to use both hands! Two coats of butcher block oil to give a it a little sheen. The cutter was a freehand kinda thing for the shape.

Top of the trash can! I love it!

I think everyone at some point has used a can, bucket, trash can as a template.
