Grandson Garage – When my first grandson was one year old I gave him a toy electric Gator to drive around in the back yard so when he turned two years old I built him a garage to keep the Gator in. I wanted it to look kind of like an old western store with a porch and a place for him and his buddies to sleep in and a place to store his Gator and other riding toys. I had a similar unit when I was a kid to store my motorcycle in. Anyway photo 5 is a sketch of the design I came up with and I built it in the middle of the summer in two weeks at my Son’s and his wife newly built house about 5 miles away. Photo 6 depicts my Son and my Grandson helping me finish up. My grandson really enjoyed this garage, but in about a year they sold the house and moved about 30 miles away. When my grandson is on this side of the bay visiting we ride by and check it out from a distance.

very cool. I’m sure your grandson will get years of enjoyment using from his own garage!

Too bad he only got to enjoy it for a year. Really nostalgic build there.

Too bad that they couldn’t have taken the building with them. I can only imagine it would have been cost prohibitive. I’ll bet he enjoyed it while he was there.
