This is a shoe rack I finally finished. Its been on here for a few months, but I finally got the top done!

This is made from two yew planks straight from the saw mill. they were choosen because of the grain pattern and faults rather than in spite of them. It made it difficult to work so I built a lathe powered sander thicknesser and a disc sander to help me build this.

The split in the top is joined with hand cut walnut ties to hold it together. The finish is poly as its a high wear piece.

I like the wany, rustic edge on the shelves. Very nice. I see the dog wanted to get in the picture, too.

Awesome shoe rack! Great design especially the irregular shape of the shelves. Wood is gorgeous with those interesting grains. Great job!
