My Niece helps us with my Wife and I’s Moms so I made her this bracelet to say thank you.

I glued three types of wood together and turned it from this blank. I used maple, mahogany & oak. I cut the corners off the blank with my bandsaw and glued them together in pairs. I then made her some earrings from them to match the bracelet.

Very nice Dewayne, I would love to see your niece modeling them, that way we can see what scale they are in.

Nice looking set of jewelry. I sure that you Niece will cherish them. Where did you find the hardware for the earrings?

Great job Dewayne. The earrings are a perfect compliment to the bangle

Hi Dewayne:
They look very nice. You are very thoughtful of the people that do things for you and your wife. Your work is real nice. It almost makes me want to learn to turn.
I have enjoyed these kind of surprises myself. They make you feel real good.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I forgot the measurements earlier but it is 2 7/16 wide by 2 1/2 id and approx 5/16 thick. These are close approximations. The earrings are about 3/4 dia x 2” long. She likes larger things than my wife. I will see if she will model them when she comes tomorrow and post later.

My wife used the salad bowl finish on both but after I had taken the pictures. I will post these pic even if my niece won’t model them.

I made a couple of earring sets, one for my wife and 2 for my niece. These are my first try at earrings so I got the cheap stuff at Walmarts to try them out. I will post a project on them later. Kinda like doing them so I might buy the pliers etc need to do a good job with them and better parts online later.

I enjoy doing little things for those that are close to me.

Doug I do enjoy my lathe as you can see. The Powermatic is so much above the Craftsman tube lathe there is no comparing them. Makes lathe werk a pleasure and lots more fun. Want to get back to some bowls soon. Got to contact my land clearing buddy to get some more blanks.

Dave I started to throw the cutoffs away but put them to the side and later got to looking at them and took my sander and smoothed the edges and glued them together. That’s why I almost never throw anything away immediately. I can most always use them somewhere.
