Here is a “Pub Style Chalkboard” I recently finished using half-lap joinery and chalkboard paint. The dentil molding I made myself using a dado stack. A spray lacquer was used to finish it. Another simple fun project!

Chris, did you use 1×3 pine for the frame? Great looking board. Seems like a very good weekend project!

I did Matt! All 1×3 pine with hardwood ply with chalkboard paint. I made the dentil molding myself as will with the dado stack. It’s all half-lap joints glued. I routed out the back and inserted the chalkboard, glued and pin nailed it in.
