Another batch of Freedom Pens ready to be shipped off tor the men and women in uniform serving our country overseas.

These are a mix of Cherry, Maple, and Oak … the pen blanks come from off-falls I get by the bundle at a local cabinet shop.

Since I started turning pens, I have done 285+ pens for uniformed service personnel and veterans.

Another beautiful batch of Freedom Pens!

Just think… One more batch will put you over 300 pens! ... 25 pens a month… = 300 a year!
Seems like you’ve been doing that!

Thank you very much!

The funny part is, when I got my lathe, I had no intention of ever turning pens. Then along came Duane Hill (adjunct instructor at Western Technical College), and my whole view changed. When I started out, I was scared to death of the skew … now the skew is afraid of me! Pen turning is a great skill builder, and really helped me improve spindle turning.

The troops will certainly appreciate your thoughtfulness. I’ve been over several times myself and I can tell you from personal experience that “care packages” sure go a long way. We don’t expect wealth or accolades or medals or… well you get the picture, but what is probably to you a simple gesture means a great deal more to those who are so fortunate as to receive your beautiful gift. Thanks for doing what you’re doing. I’m certain you are making a difference in the morale of the troops.

Sigo—Actually, I have received numerous emails (with photographs) from soldiers, sailors, and marines who have received my pens. Knowing that they appreciate them is very fulfilling, indeed.
