I was really impressed the first time I saw one of these but now I have seen so many they have lost their appeal. I have not seen another one made from natural round stock before and had trouble getting this to balance just right and wondered if that is why? I used a cachaca bottle with the same volume as a wine bottle to get it fine tuned before I finished it but then it wouldn’t balance with the wine bottle when I thought it was complete.
This was my first attempt but I am thinking of making a jig to help with drilling the holes and making the cuts at the right angle and jumping on the balancing bottle holder band wagon. Anyone else made a jig they wouldn’t mind sharing?
The wood is Ohia salvaged from land being cleared.
Finish is wipe on poly
Thanks for looking
