This is absolutely a great piece of carving and painting. I am just starting out in carving(less than a year).
If I can become 1/2 as good as you I will be pleased.
How big is it

THANKS, DEREK—IT’S ABOUT 10 INCHES TALL-CARVED FROM BASSWOOD,MOUNTED ON WALNUT. ONE OF THE HARDEST PIECES I’VE EVER DONE. HAVE A HARD TIME MAKING BOTH SIDES MATCH! FLOWERS ARE MUCH EAISER, THEY DON’T HAVE TO MATCH!! STICK WITH IT. A YEAR ISN’T VERY LONG. BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, YOU’LL AMAZE YOURSELF.

YES THOMAS, I SIGNED IT. AND YES, HE DID LOVE IT. HE GAVE IT BACK, BEFORE HE DIED. WE ONCE HAD A HORSE, THAT LOOKED JUST LIKE IT, THAT DAD AND I WERE BOTH VERY FOND OF.

Good job, Rita! Don’t stress about making both sides perfectly symaetrical, nature doesn’t!

It looks fantastic and realistic. Your talent in carving is just top notch. Dad will be proud of this gift.
