This is imported Olive Wood from Bethlehem. I decided to make a Wall Street II pen with it for my pastor. The piece of wood i bought was large, so i needed to cut it down to the proper blank size, then proceeded to create the pen..the smell of the olive wood was awesome while turning…and the grain on this wood just kicks at you…opposite side has almost no grain, but looks great. I sanded this using 100, 180, 240, and 500. Then i used wet/dry 500 and mineral spirits to clean the sanded area..using a clean paper towel, i could see exactly how much dirt the spirits removed…i let the lathe run to dry the spirits, the i finished it with Super Glue (Medium) ...i used a buffer to shine it up…

Great looking pen! The olive has amazing grains and the finish is very nice. Truly a great gift.
