Project Information

This pine patio table l made for my wife, is 22'' across x 48'' long x 16'' high it replaced an old painted table we made quickly 5-6 years ago. I just need to give it a light sand and apply 4th coat of Diamond wood finish outside varathane and trim top edge of boards was to be rounded on ends but my wife wanted it square.
Thanks for looking last coffee type table l made was 7-8 years ago in my first woodworking night class i took.

Nice work Jim! Looks great. So long as the wife is happy I'd call that a blazing success!

Thanks Lew and jack1, been a long time since made a small table, my wife and l made very quick 15 min table for firepit about 5-6 years ago l guess a few months ago from weather fell apart. Went looking for a solid table in a wood store just sold wood products.
Then was shocked $ 200- $ 299.00 for a small solid wood table be honest l feared failure is why didn't make one but when l seen prices of solid wood made me want to give it a try due to cost.

Maybe 50.00 in material outdoor varathane most costly but worked ok l think was to be rounded on ends in plans was a Adirondack patio table Woodsmith Outdoor Woodworking projects, plans August/2010 edition.
But my wife wanted square ends l liked Adirondack style but what makes her happy makes me happy have been that way for 35 years love giving not fussy on receiving.
Yes she wanted it 4 ft long and over 20'' across being it is for firepit
Thanks for looking

Thanks joseph000, l agree exactly as well pine is easy to come by, prices good and looks nice.
If you put proper outdoor finish and yearly wood protector on wood, pine should last time and being on a small cpp disability pension l am pretty much limited to materials l can buy, l didn't put any sealer on wood before putting on the present 3 coats of Diamond outdoor varathane on it, l lightly sanded it last night today wipping down with tack cloth and apply a good 4th finial coat of the dimond clearcoat outdoor varathane should this be ok?
Every spring will clean up put 1-2 coats on every spring of above varathane and is stored in shed for winters with other patio furniture etc should this be ok for pine outside items, reason l am asking got 2 possible paying customers in my area who seen it on facebook want to buy table l made my wife with 2 end tables want to make sure it will hold up for customers
thanks jim
