I was going to make a small rocking horse for my grandson’s first birthday until I remembered the theme in his bedroom is airplanes, so the Rock-A-Plane was born. I did not have any plans, just put some things together to make it look about right. It was made from poplar. The finish was 3 coats of shellac. The “N” number is his birthday.

I see an instant family heirloom in these pictures! Neat idea on using the birthday for the numbering.

Borrow away. I am glad you liked. Make sure to post a picture when you are done.

I’ve built a few rocking horses for my grandchildren, but I’ve also owned a few planes. The “N” number of my last one was N9SA (my initials). I was never crazy about the rocking elephants, boats, etc., but I have to give your rocking airplane “two thumbs up”! Well done!!

G’Day Mark, What a top job you’ve done of the plane rocker…
I like the shallow arch on the rockers, keeps it on the ground and no crash landings.
