I got the clear on this one and added it to the pile. Not very big just 4 1/2” x 2” but I think it came out ok. The shape came from trying to get a check out that was too deep. I liked what I had so I made the interior match as for the check I filled it with epoxy and coffee. It is much prettier than the pics show. Finished with 4 coats of Deft lacquer.

Nice looking bowl. Great choice and good save.

Hey Tommy, that looks a great little piece of timber with some realy nice work added to it,
Don’t take this wrong, but you might want to try & photo on a less “competitive” backdrop, it sort of confuses things & competes a bit too strongly IMHO

Thanks everyone I have a good sized stack of this wood some too large for me to turn on my little lathe. Probably sell some of it off.

Thanks Pete. I know the background is too busy. It was the one on the stand for use with my calls and I was rushing to get pics so didn’t change it out. I try to get a pic of just about everything I do so I really do have better back drops I promise.

Great looking bowl! Like the shape and the interesting and striking grains on wood.

I just turned a sweetgum bowl. This one is really impressive. Nice Job. Its funny how the imperfections/checks etc in the blank will sort of dictate the final shape, as well as deep gouges in the wood caused by inept hands and sharp tools!
