Made the Woodsmith planer stand on a mobile base. Good for my shop, I only get half of the garage.

Great looking stand, you will really enjoy using it. The mobile base will be very handy in a small shop. Good job!

Did you get screwed by the incorrect dimensions on the dado placements for the drawer, too? I have the issue of ShopNotes that this came from, and the dimensions are wrong there. I only discovered this after I cut the dados, of course, so my drawer is going to end up super-shallow. They published the corrections on the ShopNotes website, but that didn’t do me much good.

Nice job on the stand, by the way—looks great.

I made this a couple of years ago too. It has been a valuable edition to my shop. Nice job on it.

Thanks. I got the article from the web site, so I guess I got the right dimensions. I adjusted it a little to incorporate plastic drawer slides on the bottom and top of the drawer. I also made it a little taller since my mobile base is lower than casters.

Have your say...
