This was a mothers day present for my Mother-in-law. I got a lot of help from this one from Shopmania. It was made from a single board of ipe, which I got from Tim, but was my idea to use. The board was cut to make the square top. The outside edges were routed, top and bottom, and the legs cut out. Once we aligned them, they were countersunk and screwed into place. The screws hold the top together, there is no glue in this piece. We started with an orange oil finish, but Time decided to get fancy and add a coat of lemon wax on top of that. As you can see from the pictures, the Mother-in-law loved it.

John, This is refreshingly simple and sharp. Nice job buddy! Wish you could join us to Anchor Hardwoods tomorrow, let us know if there is anything you need us to pick up for you.

It’s simple but really looks great and well made. Nothing can beat a gift made by own hands.

Have your say...
