These were constructed (without plans making them works of art) as gifts for my daughter and daughter-in-law. The main component wood is red oak for the main 72” shaft and base pieces. There are walnut and purpleheart inlays on the shaft, cherry angled pieces for mounting the oak hanging posts, with walnut “buttons” on the ends. Finishing was with Old Masters clear stain and three coats of semi-gloss poly varnish rollered on then finally rubbed out silky smooth with lemon oil and #0000 steel wool.
